Can you tell me which cruise lines you went on and why you did or didnt like them please.
We are trying to book next yrs cruise and my dh has only been on royal carribean with me, which was nice but now he wants to try something else. I have been on Disney, Carnival, Norwegian and RC. But would love your thoughts. Thanks.

I tend to favor Celebrity mainly because the food is always AMAZING.
I suppose it depends on what you're looking to get from a cruise, though. If the onboard ship activities are more important to you, I'd stick with RC.
I'm assuming that if you've been on nice cruises already (like Disney) you'll probably want to steer clear of Carnival and Norweigan. Chance are you'd be very disappointed in comparison.

we went on a norweigen cruise about 4 years ago and really liked it! i liked the whole "freestyle" cruising thing for meals... that you didn't have a set meal time and table all week- you could make reservations or just go when you were hungry... i thought the food was good, the ship was nice, and there were a lot of different shore excursions to pick from...

We have been on Princess Disney NCL
We preferred Princess the best. On that ship, we received the best service & the food was amazing.
NCL was nice but we didn't think the food choices were much to brag about especially with the "freestyle" dining. Didn't seem to receive as nice of service either as the tips are already included in your stateroom bill
Disney was alright but again, we were not overly impressed. It was a beautiful ship but for me a little "overrated"

Re: Can you tell me which cruise lines you went on and why you did or didnt like them please.
I've been on RCCL Majesty of the Seas. It's an older ship. We had an inside cabin. It was a work deal the office got (a seminar at sea) and we had to get inside cabins. It was my very first cruise and I thought the food was pretty good.
We also went to the art auction and I won 4 pieces of art. I was so excited. We had a blast in the Casino and did some shopping in the stores. Got our family their christmas gifts while we cruised.
This year we're going on the Freedom of the Seas. It's a year old ship and it's just amazing. It's the biggest ship on the seas.
Some of it's Highlights FlowRider® H2O Zone Cantilevered whirlpools Rock-climbing wall Ice-skating rink Royal Promenade Extensive WiFi capabilities and connectivity for cell phones Full-size, flat-screen TVs in every stateroom Themed bars and lounges Adventure Ocean® youth facilities ShipShape® Fitness Center and Day Spa Full-size Everlast boxing ring Casino RoyaleSM Presidential Family Suite Sports Pool Full-size sports court 9-hole miniature golf course Johnny Rockets® '50s-style restaurant Portofino Italian Restaurant Chops Grille Ben & Jerry's® ice cream Vintages wine bar Boleros Latin-themed lounge Sorrento's pizza I can't wait

Re: Can you tell me which cruise lines you went on and why you did or didnt like them please.
I went on Holland America 2 weeks ago
The ship was beautiful, service amazing, and the food was great. I would say the entertainment was so-so and it definately caters to an older crowd. However there was a definate mix with some younger people and some families. It was nice because I think there were only like 90 kids on this cruise so they didn't take over the ship and were all very well behaved. I would reccomend it if you aren't looking for a cruise that you would be up all night partying on.

I have only been on Carnival (Sensation). The ship itself was beautiful, but the food sucked. Also the crew, from waiters to officers were hitting on all the girls/women. They didnt care if you were married, single, young, old...everyone got equal time. It was very uncomfortable.

Definitely agree about Norwegian and Carnival. I went on the Norwegian Dawn two years ago, although it was a new boat, it did not compare to a Princess or Celebrity boat. I am going on Royal Carribbean this year, so I can't rate that line.
Been on two Princess boats ( Grand and Carribbean.) Pros- Affordable Great pool areas Spacious rooms Nice decor Good Food Great service
Cons- The show were bad and very corny, but this was just the singing and dancing shows. Everything else was great.
Been on two Celebrity cruises (Century and one that is not running anymore).
Pros- The food is fantastic Service is great The rooms are nice and Spacious Shows are good The decor is very classy
Cons- Pool area was not so nice, but these were older boats. The newer boats are probably better.
NCL (Dawn)
Pro- Food was good Service was good Really good cruise director!! Shows were actually really good.
Cons- Room was small and plain, though the bathroom was really big for a stateroom. The pool area was small (only one pool). No night club The boats decor was nice but kind of cheap looking.
My parent cruise alot, and say Carnival is a nice cruie line, but the food is not that good. They also say Carnival doesn't compare to Celebrity, Princess, RCL.
My parents also go on alot of Costa Cruises. They really like these and say the boats are very nice. They also say that the food is excellent. This cruise line usually has alot of Europeans passengers on it. So the night life is always going into the wee hours of the morning.
