Cancer support group for caregivers in suffolk or eastern Nassau.
Hi .....my father in law is very very sick with kidney cancer. My MIL could really use the support of those in a similar situation. She is in commack if anyone has any suggestions. Also, she has specifically said she is not interested in seeing a therapist.....she would prefer to meet others going through the same thing.

So sorry about your FIL
CancerCare is a great organization and they can direct you to a support group in her area. http://www.cancercare.org/get_help/supportgroups.php
Hope they are able to help.

Sloan-Kettering has a building on Commack Rd. down near the Costco. Perhaps they offer something? When my mom had cancer she joined a group through her hospital. I am sure she could talk to a social worker where her husband is getting treated for a referral.

I agree. My mom had cancer and was treated at Stony Brook, and they have tons of support groups at the Cancer Center there.
