it's $15.00 a month and it covers DH and I...
not sure what it covers exactly, but for only $15.00, we figured why not.... GHI fir NYC teachers is free, so i look at it as only $15.00 a month for benefits for 2 people.

I believe it covers something like an ambulance...if you ever need an ambulance to take you to the ER. I worked with a woman who did NOT have the rider and needed an ambulance for her husband and it was a huge bill

i believe the extra rider covers the cost incurred by things like extended hospital stays, etc. not your typical doctors' visits

So I take it nobody has the prescription drug part of it, right? I look at the sheet and I'm calculating $95 twice a month because so much of it goes to the prescription part.

We dont' have the Rx part of it... didn't even know that was an option. We just use the Welfare Fund for that ---which you are paying for anyway through UFT dues.
although you may need additional Rx coverage, i don't know, but if what the Welfare Fund provides works for you, i would just do tat for Rx.
