car seats
Hi everyone....I haven't been on here in forever! My twin girls are definitely keeping me busy. They are almost 5 months now and I went back to work much earlier than I planned. And we are about to close on our first house! So lots going on....
I wanted to know when did everyone switch from the infant car seat to convertible seats? My girls are long and I can see rear facing is going to get uncomfy for them

Re: car seats
I switched my twins when they were around 10 months, but they were rear facing in the convertible seats until they were 2.

Re: car seats
I switched mine to their convertable seats at 17 months, but they are still rear facing and will be for as long as I can keep them that way for safety reasons. The longer rear facing the better

Re: car seats
we switched to convertible seats at around 8 1/2 months because of height. They are now in convertibles at 11 months and I can't anticipate changing them to forward facing for a very very long time

car seats
i switched my boys at 11 months to convertibles because of length
at 20 months they are still rear facing - plan on keeping them rear facing to seat maximum
from my older i learned it is actually easier to force them in rear facing and they will fight going into their car seat in either direction - there is no place for them to slide away rear facing
also the difference in injury from forward facing to rear facing -neck injury to a leg injury is always a thought in my head
kids can sit crossed legged without a problem

Re: car seats
We switched to convertible car seat between 10 and 11 months due to length. We are still rear facing at 17 months.

We switched to convertible at 11 months also but I recently switched to fwd facing at 16 months. My son has orthotics & since his feet couldn't bend properly we switched them.

Re: car seats
We switched them from infant seats to rear facing convertible seats around 8/9 months I think? The carriers got too heavy to carry with them in it by about 7 months so we just kept them in the car and carried the kids out.
They will stay rear facing until they are at least 2 at the bare minimum. They are 19 1/2 months now and I'm not even close to considering changing. Rear facing is much much safer for them. There is nothing wrong with having their legs bent in the car.

Re: car seats
Mine are 6 mo and I'll be changing them soon. The infant seat is ok but when I put them in the snap n go I have to put the one who curls her feet up in the back. the other ones feet would be smooshed if I put her back there. I need to buy one SOON!! I also want to use the other stroller so they can see more.

This was one of the reasons I didn't really use the snap and go. I really liked the City Select with car seat adapters instead.
