Car Seats and little cars
I have a Toyota Matrix, roomy but still a small car. Anyone have a recommendation for a car seat they used in their small cars.
Thanks!

Re: Car Seats and little cars
Good question!! I have a nissan sentra and the back is tight! I had my nephew a few times and his infant car seat was a nightmare to get in and out and its the same one I was looking at getting.

Re: Car Seats and little cars
We had my nephew's car seat in my car once and we had to put the passenger sheet all the way up. DH and I are both tall, so we can't put our seats up too close.

Re: Car Seats and little cars
the best thing you can do is go to the customer service area in BBB or BRU and ask that they bring some seats out to your car. They will ask that you drive your car to the entrance and they can show you how each one will fit. I haven't done this myself, but a friend of mine has....

Re: Car Seats and little cars
I'm not sure whether your looking for an infant car seat or a convertible car seat. But we have a small car also, a toyota prius and for the infant seat we got the graco snugride and it fits ok. For the bigger car seat that can go rear and foward facing we found the Britax roundabout or the Evenflo triumph advance. We tried out a bunch of different car seats and they seemed to fit the best.

I had the convertible car seat in mind when I posted this.
I like the Britax car seats, so that is good to know!

With the britax i would definitly try them out in your car first. The roundabout is the smallest one and the only one that would fit comfortably rear facing in our car(without our seats scrunched all the way up)

The Britax Roundabout a good seat, and I do know it will fit your car.

Re: Car Seats and little cars
We have the Graco Snugride & facing backwards it was tight in our VW Jetta. We now have the Alpha Omega Elite forward facing & its fine; however, it it was rear facing it might have been super tight.

Re: Car Seats and little cars
We have two snugrides in the Jetta. They fit fine, you just can't move the front seat back too much, but enough that it is comfortable. As for the convertibles, we have Britax roundabouts but we haven't used them yet.

My friend drives a Jetta - she has the Graco Snugride (fits great) and the Britax Roundabout (which she isn't using yet, but tested it in car and said it fits great)

Re: Car Seats and little cars
All rear facing infant seats will fit approximatley the same in small cars. You will not get to insert your car seat and move the front seats all the way back if that is what you want.
We use the 30/30 Viaggio in a civic and it is a tight fit.

Re: Car Seats and little cars
this is why we chose the britax roundabout instead of the marathon. my DH drives a honda civic and it fits really well. the marathon was very big.

Talk about small cars, I have a Focus. I have the Chicco Cortina travel system. I love it but it is snug and the stroller itself takes up my entire trunk. I can't wait to purchase a bigger vehicle!

Re: Car Seats and little cars
Try some google searches for child seats for your car. There are lots of forums and search results that will give you some car seats that will work for you.

same here. DH has a Honda Civic (though I DOUBT he'd have the baby in that car...it's a two door ) and I have a Honda Fit, which is small, but roomy.

Re: Car Seats and little cars
For forwad facing I would go to the higher weight seat in the Britax line - the Marathon. It will for in that position and goes to 65 pounds.
