Yes, he is correct. This particular product does not interfere with the safe operation of the car seat.

The only comment I have about products like this - are they necessary though? Can the money be better spent on other necessities? It really does nothing more than a blanket - and trust me - you all must have 100 of those by now. I have 3 draws filled with blankest given to my kids.

Your Aunt Tilly started to knit one for your kids the day you were born.

That's what I used for DD as a newborn and what I will use for DD#2 as a newborn. I find it necessary because they can kick a blanket off. I often unzip in the car because it does have heat. I like it for outside, though. This winter when my first DD is 1, I plan on using a bundle me for her stroller, and a blanket or nothing in the car.

I appreciate your posts, and I'm greatful for the information that you are willing to share with us, but I find the tone of this post a bit condescending. It's possible to educate us about car seats without questioning how our money would be better spent, IMO.

I don't think he was trying to be condescending, I think he was just trying to be light hearted and say there are tons of things to buy when a baby comes, and that maybe we can put the moneyt towards other items. I know a lot of people get very overwhelmed with all the baby products out there. Chat Icon

Re: Car Seats and the Winter

My tone is never meant to be condesending. And I appologize if anyone takes it that way.

I tend to write like i speak so you can not hear the laughter in my tone. That is the problem with e-mail and messages.

Maybe that is why my wife is always mad at me. (Just Kidding)

My comment about money is more related to our willingness to spend money on things that are not absolutely necessary when a cheaper or no cost alternative is available. If you like a product, as long as it is safe - buy it.

As far as me, I like to put my money where it will do the most good - in my wife's pocketbook. Trust me she knows how to spend it better than me.

Re: Car Seats and the Winter

can I ask a q for those that have that kiddo.. blanket posted- i have dc#2 coming in jan so i need to figure something out...

Is there a way to zipper it so its not just the tiny head hole? The way it looks on the website freaks me out - like if the baby wiggles around it can suffocate b/c there is just that little round opening?

I really do not get into the specifics on products, but the opening is fine.

Anyone want to add a comment?

Thanks for the update!

The state trooper that assisted my car seat installation said that this product is a great alternative to the bundleMe - the Kiddopotomus Posh Pouch. It has elastic and goes OVER the seat, not around the child.

Is this correct info?

I had a December baby and loved using this.

The zipper goes from the feet to the head, so you can always stop zippering halfway up, like a jacket.

Also, the hole is pretty big. If a baby can wiggle around enough to even think that there may be a problem, it means they aren't strapped in properly.
