Care package for a family with a sick child
An old friend of mine just posted on facebook her 2 year old granddaughter has retinal blastoma. She will be having her eye removed next week and may need chemo. I have know her (the grandma) for 12 years and while we aren't super close we have always kept in touch and I have known her son since her was 10. I am heartbroken for them. I want to send her granddaughter a care package and one to her son and his wife. They will be 2 hours away at a children't hospital for the stay. For the grand-daughter I was thinking a princess blanket and pillowcase, a doll or stuffed minnie mouse, and maybe some coloring books and crayons(still not sure since I don't know if both eyes will be bandaged for awhile or if it would hurt her to focus). For her parents I was thinking a visa gift card, playing cards and pillowcases for them as well. What else would you do or substitute. They will be at the Ronald McDonald House. Any help is appreciated!

Oh how sad. For the granddaughter I would do comfy pjs, slippers, blanket and stuffed animal. Something along those lines.
Parents I would do something meal related. Maybe a local restaurant gift card. Having food delivered would be hard and have to be coordinated. Staying 2 hours away is tricky too but anything to make their life easier.

Maybe something like a sticker book for the lo. Gas cards and a restaurant gc would probably be good for the adults. Maybe a chain like panera if there's one close to both the hospital and home so they can use it whenever. You could contact the Ronald McDonald house and see if they have suggestions even. Maybe volunteer to cook a meal one night or drop of some baked goods.

Thank you guys! I recently moved so i'm out of state so preparing food isn't an option for me. I'll do a visa gc and a panera gc for them and the pj's and slippers are a great idea for her. Thank you all again :)
