Care.com and Sittercity
For those of you that found your nanny through one of these websites, would you mind describing your experience.
How many months did you belong to site? How many people did you meet/interview? What were the most important qualifications for you? Were you able to find someone that met all of your needs and requirements and how long did it take?

I've used sittercity twice. Sign up for the free trial, they send out discounts on subscribtions a few times a year. I think I got the 3 month subscribtion... I posted my p/t nanny position and got a bunch of responses.. maybe were canned responses that you could tell they cut and paste to everyone (I love bicycle riding and doing crafts! when the job was for an infant) but I weeded through them and selected a handful to contact. I asked them for a resume and then set up interviews based on who was best. I have found both my nannies this way and they were both EXCELLENT.

We used sittercity. We belonged for two months. We received a ton of responses to our ad. I weeded them out (based on how close they were, etc). I then met with about 7 people. We have been using our current babysitter for the past 5 months and DD loves her. She is so good with our daughter. We also liked some of other candidates and have kept their name on file if we should need them.

we got our nanny from sitter city
we joined for 3 months- we palced and ad and then went through the responses - interviewed a few on the phone then had the best 2 come meet our son. We hired our 2nd choice (first choice only wanted 4 days a week) - she was good but a little ditzy so we posted a new add - you can post an ad but block certain individuals. We called a few more and brought one person in - she is amazing and has been wih us for 4 months- she is ver y creative and manges our kids and household wonderfully
chaingin is not easy but worth it if you are not a 100 percent happy
