Carpet installation for the den this weekend

at least ONE room is shaping up for completion before we go broke

do we have to tip the carpet installers? they are just installing...not taking out...not moving any furniture and the install was paid for through home depot.

Ok, this is my opinion having kind of "grown up" in a carpet store. My mother has worked in one since...I can't ever remember her doing anything else. And I worked there part time doing admin work when I was a teenager. Anyway, carpet installers have a HARD job. Most of them have to end up having knee surgery because of the "kicking" they have to do with their knees to really get the carpet flush into the wall (if you're doing wall-to-wall). They come back from one job and go right to another and spend their nights taking Advil and covered in ice packs. Yes, they choose to do this job, but they work hard and personally I think they should be thrown an extra couple of bucks. They don't expect it but are very appreciative of it.

Then again, I tip everyone, but that's just my personal angle about carpet installers.

We tipped ours... They did a fantastic job, sang while they worked - really went the extra mile.

I am a big tipper - I tip everyone. My family owns a service business so I grew up around tipping. Even if it's not necessary - it shows appreciation.

we tipped ours.. we gave them $20 bucks each... just a nice gesture!

i am what some people would call "tip happy" myself but I wanted to make sure it was appropriate (in some industries it's not).
