Catholic Religion classes
I just looked up the information to register my son for religion (he's in 1st grade) and there is a $185 family fee then $25 for the book. Is this the norm? Thanks!

I have found it varies. We were looking for a new church in our area a while back. We had been going to the church we grew up in, but moved, and were still going back. Now that our DC is in religion, we wanted DC to go with kids DC was in school with.
One parish, was $200. The one we ended up joining, was only $100. The difference was the first year was done in formal classes at one, at the other, you do the first year in your home.

My DD was in First grade last year and religious Ed was $80...she pays the same $80 this year and an additional $75 as she will be making her first communion.
