catholic schools in suffolk county

if you chose to send your child to a catholic school, how did you choose between them? i am torn between st. marys in EI and st. pats in bayshore. i also liked holy angels in patchogue but am leaning toward marys/pats.

I went to St. Pats in Bay Shore growing up. I also used to sub there before I got a permanent position. The teachers are all wonderful, and it is a very nice school.

We were between the same two schools. As my DS was starting kindergarten at the time, one of the schools was much further away than the other so that made the choice for us. I felt it was too far for a five year old to travel. Now that he's older, that wouldn't really figure into it but we will keep him where he is since he really likes it and we have no major issues with the school ( I know that no school is perfect and should a major issue come up, I would consider switching him).

We had a good feeling about both schools and believed we couldn't go wrong either way.

which one did you end up going with? do you think (distance aside) that one was better or is better than the other, academically? i feel like an extra ten minutes in the car isn't going to sway me either way. it's more or less which one is stronger. i have heard different things from people so thought i might check these boards. My mom is a TA with the little ones there. She's been at the school for around 15 years or so.
