Cause for concern?

Sydnie has a bruise on her shin that isn't going away. I guess it's a pretty common place to keep bumping at 14 months but do you think it's worthy of a call to the ped? Thanks.

Re: Cause for concern?

I wouldn't. I'd just keep an eye on it to make sure it is fading each day and not getting bigger.Chat Icon

I would...why not? I always err on the side of caution. I am sure my Dr's think I am crazy but I don't careChat Icon

Re: Cause for concern?

When you say it won't go away, how long have you noticed it?

I know there are things with DS that seem to take FOREVER to go away. He had 2 mosquito bites on the back of his neck that I swear were there forever and a day.

I wouldn't be concerned about the bruise unless it was getting worse or she was getting more bruises all over. But you can always call the ped and they will tell you if it's worthy of a trip in or not.

Re: Cause for concern?

It's been there at least 2 weeks but I pressed on it and it didn't bother her at all. I guess I'll keep an eye on it and if by the end of the week it doesn't change/fade/go away I'll call. Thank so much girls Chat Icon

Re: Cause for concern?

After 2 weeks, if it is still there and isn't turning yellow I'd probably call the PED, it is probably nothing but it would bug me not knowing for sure.
