CDC ending testing to fly into U.S.
https://www.cnn.com/2022/06/10/politics/us-to-end-pre-departure-testing-requirement/index.html
Good for many people traveling into the U.S. especially with summer vacations starting

CDC ending testing to fly into U.S.
That is good news! My husband and I were reluctant to vacation outside the US because we'd have to waste our vacation time finding a testing site and then worrying we were positive. This releives that stress.

That is good news. I do have to say the resort we stayed in in Mexico did it right on site. Just the worry that "what if".

Same. Or even worse testing positive and getting stuck there. I also heard a horror story of how people were treated when they tested positive in Aruba- pretty much thrown in a step above a prison camp for 10 days
I wasn't going to travel anywhere outside the US and take that risk. Not worth it even a little.

CDC ending testing to fly into U.S.
Finally. I was just getting ready to order our testing kits to come back from a trip this Summer (we do the online proctored do it yourself ones when traveling). But, still need it for a cruise next month. So annoying since you could test 2 days before the cruise and get covid the day before you board.

Ok, dumb question. How does it work for a cruise? We just booked a cruise and they didn’t say anything about testing, just proof of vaccination. Do you have to test before each port?
I’m more worried about norovirus on a cruise than I am covid.

Which line did you book with? We are with RCCL and a test is required for everyone along with proof of vaccination. No other testing required. The testing times may vary by line. Ours is 2 days or less before. Unvaccinated kids 2 to 11 have different guidelines though and have to test more often.
And I agree about Noro. We always bring medical grade alcohol wipes and peroxide wipes to wipe down the room, etc.
ETA, we will do the home test (with live proctor on Binax website), because I don't have any faith in being able to get our results back from a testing facility in time. The other option is to pay at the cruise port to be tested there. Looks pricey though

Thanks! It’s Disney. I just looked it up and they have some specific home test you can use and upload the results. Hopefully they drop the requirement by the time we leave because it seems annoying.

Super annoying! We love the Disney cruise. Enjoy it! I wish we were going on that one. It's our first time on Royal Caribbean and going with a group. We have only ever done is Disney and so far I'm annoyed by RC and their Port time changes, and nickle and diming.

You will love this ship. Been on it once and Allure 3 times (sister ship). While some things are extra, there is so much to do for every age.

CDC ending testing to fly into U.S.
Are you ladies in July? What are you doing in Cape Canaveral? I can't find anything great other than going to Ron Jon and the beach (we have done that before though). My main reason for booking this Cruise was because of a stop at Nassau and me thinking we could go to Atlantis for the day like we have done in the past from the Disney cruise. But the boat gets in so late and leaves too early so it's not worthwhile. So that was disappointing. But we booked Margaritaville as an alternative

We are in August for the Oasis. Nassau Margaritaville will be so much fun. While I love atlantis it is so expensive and a drive from the ship. Margaritaville is very close.
In Cape Canaveral, my husband always goes to the Kennedy Space Center. He loves it. I have done Disney a few times but you have to go with the understanding you are only there a few hours and spending a ton of money. Most of the time, I just stay on the ship and appreciate the quiet because everyone is off. It's a good time for the pools! There is so much to do on the Oasis that you never have to get off the ship. Are you going with family or a real group? We travel with Autism on the Seas and usually find other families the first few days and we plan excursions together.

No not July and no clue either but thinking of that beach. Kids want to go to Cape Canaveral but if we get in late they won’t have enough time. I told them they can go on their own as I am not interested. Been there before. Nassau not sure yet as we have done Blue Lagoon before and that was nice.

We are going with a group of friends, not an actual organized group. I was hoping Aots would be on our cruise for my son, but they aren't. For Atlantis we always use Marriott points and book a room that we don't use, so that had been my plan! But the boat arrives at 1pm.and leaves at 8, which is terrible hours there. We will probably stay on the boat in Port Canavaral, I'm thinking .
I will report back after our cruise since I'm going before you guys!

Are you ladies in July? What are you doing in Cape Canaveral? I can't find anything great other than going to Ron Jon and the beach (we have done that before though).
