That is good news! My husband and I were reluctant to vacation outside the US because we'd have to waste our vacation time finding a testing site and then worrying we were positive. This releives that stress.
Same. Or even worse testing positive and getting stuck there. I also heard a horror story of how people were treated when they tested positive in Aruba- pretty much thrown in a step above a prison camp for 10 days
I wasn't going to travel anywhere outside the US and take that risk. Not worth it even a little.
Just curious-is this from someone you know, or what you heard?
We just got back from Aruba and are in multiple FB groups for Aruba travel and different forums, and this is the first that I'm hearing about COVID quarantine accommodations being a step above a prison camp.
The government in Aruba rented AirBnB properties for quarantines, and many people were put up in private homes with pools and outdoor space to spend the time in. If that wasn't available, they were provided apartments with the majority having an outdoor patio or balcony for fresh air. Food was able to be purchased and delivered to the housing and they had kitchens, many had laundry services. They were picked up from their hotel and driven to their housing.
Of course you couldn't leave the property you were in because you were in quarantine, otherwise there was a fine.

The HS senoir trip for our town was in Aruba over Feb break and I heard similar worries about getting stuck in the government run quarantine.
The caribbean is so currupt for the most part that it was pretty easy to buy your way out even with a positive test.
This spring break was the first time I worried a little about testing positive and not being able to return home but apparently Mexico was the best place to get stuck. And it's really only an additional 4 days because you test positive a day before your original departure date and you are only required to quarantine 5 days. So on the 5th day you can fly out.
Either way though I am so happy it's over. We are going to Ireland and England this summer and I thought having to test to get in and out of places was going to be a nightmare.
