cell phone question re: data
DH's data usage was $40 last month and $55 this month?! What is "data"? He swears he doesnt DL anything but could it be something that people are sending him like those STUPID videos and stuff like that??

Texting, picture messages, internet usage, all equal data. It stinks when you think you are under the minimum, but get a huge bill at the end of the month.

we have verizon and its $50 extra a month for unlimited data- I dont have it but dh does for work- emails, texts, etc.

Data usually includes web access, downloading things from the internet, GPS services (navigation), music, TV access and email. It also usually includes picture and video mail because your phone has to connect to the internet to view the videos and pictures.
If DH friends are sending him videos, he is going to get charged for receiving them. Based on how big they are, will determine how much you get charged for each one. It all adds up pretty quickly.

ACK! I was going to add it but $50/m is TOO much!
I am going to be so mad if we are paying $55/m so his friends can send him a picture of some naked girl jumping up and down or something, come on the picture is like one inch high!!!!!!!!!

Check with your service provider. I know at Sprint, you can add a $5 add on for picture and video mail if you don't want to have the full data service. Check to see if they have anything like that.
If not, I would recommend that DH requests to have data blocked on his phone so that he doesn't have to worry about getting charged for those "stupid" videos from his friends!
