i work for a hospital and i have seen/ heard this myself
as a society we are going to end up in the shitter if we can't disconnect from the damn phone

Funny you mention this. The other day I had to go pick up my DH from the train station. Literally everyone coming off the train was on their phones. Like totally glued walking into the middle of the street w.o even looking what was going on around them. It's kind of sad in a way.

OMG yes! I was in the city yesterday and people can't walk up the stairs from the platform to Penn without being on their phone. And forget it walking in the streets, they walk with their head buried in their phones and almost walk right into you. It's actually dangerous- one day you'll walk in front of a g0d damn bus, but as long as you are all caught up on your Instagram stories, all is good right?
You can't put it down for 5 minutes to navigate your way to your car or up a flight of stairs?
Our society is like a bunch of zombies. It's sad

I don't know the older i get the more i want to be "in" the moment
like I want to see the flowers, i want to hear the birds
I love the cell phone for goofing off at work, filling dead time like that- but if I am outside I want to participate
I am happy my kids aren't glued to tablets and still want to play and imagine things on their own
like who the fuk are these people texting with all day - like who is that important, can't you just put it down
makes me nuts... rant over...
