Central Air Recommendations please
We are looking to get Central Air installed in our home. We need the ductwork and equipment installed. Please if can give me a estimate of about how much it costed you (you can FM me if you like) and how long it took to have them install everything from start to finish? Any info on the type of equipment you got would be helpful also.
TIA

Re: Central Air Recommendations please
We just cac installed last week. We had 3 estimates from apple air conditioning, slomins and an all weather temperature control. We wound up going with all weather and they were actually slightly more expensive, but they were clearly the best company of the three. I live in seaford right across the street from apple air and thought that we would use them. I had always heard such good things about them, but I found out that my neighbor had used them last year and wound up firing them mid job because they screwed up bad. He then went with all weather and couldn't be happier. I will fm you the rest of the details.....I don't have the papers in front of me right now.

Re: Central Air Recommendations please
Cost us 16,000 with 3,000 rebates/refuends so about 13,000.
Took 3 days total 8-4 each day for whole house but house was not occupied at that time.
We got a Lennox 16 seer, one unit....with hepa filtration. Havent used it yet since it was just installed in the fall. Cant wait!

I used Apple Air Conditioner in Seaford. I priced around and they gave the best price. We had all new duct work in. I really dont remember the specs but it came to about $8,000, but then we got the rebates.
ETA, it took about 2 weeks to get an appt and they did it all in one day.

Re: Central Air Recommendations please
My mom paid 12k with all the duct work and I have no idea who she used.
Mine was installed already when we moved in. It needs work and Sears is doing it so maybe check with them?
Here is the link!link

I would recommend Apple AIr - They were voted best on LI. I had them come to my house last weekend for a tune up and actually had a few issues that the installer messed up on so they had to fix everything. The service guy was really nice and honest.

Re: Central Air Recommendations please
I paid 13500 for an 18 seer 5 ton system (about as big as you can get).
Included all duct work as part of a new construction for my colonial.

Have you considered ductless AC, those mitsubishi units? It's cheaper than CAC, works the same, but doesn't take all that space up in your attic
