Re: Central Air recs?

Here are the ones we looked at:

Apple Air Conditioning (Merrick Road Seaford)
Meenan Oil (Wantagh)
Aaron Air Conditioning (Massapequa)

We ended up going with Meenan (they were our oil company at the time). They had the best rate and a payment plan and they were able to install within 2 weeks.

Good luck! This was the best money we ever spent on the house!

Re: Central Air recs?

We received estimates from:

Soundview HVAC in Port Jeff
Dix Hills
Sears
Slomins.

Sears and Slomins were Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon the guy from Sears was nice, but he wanted to put a 4 ton unit in our 1800 sq ft high ranch. even I knew that was ridic.

Dix Hills was good - we did not like the electrician they sent over and he ended up killing the deal for them.

Soundview just actually installed yesterday - they did a fantastic job. They have a great BBB rating too. I highly recommend them!!

Re: Central Air recs?

When we installed back in 05 we looked at several companies...

Sears and Slomins sent sales people and when pressed for technical specifics gave vague answers, plus they were $$$$ and wanted to sell us what we didn't need.

Dix Hills... my FIL is in the kitchen design business, they have crossed paths often and well... let's just say... my FIL doesn't like him... I won't quote what he said... I'll be bannedChat Icon

Some other companies wouldn't install it through my walls... I did not want ducts taking up closet space.

We used
National Air Conditioning and Heating (Tom)
631-423-1616

He is owner/operated. We negotiated for cash and got the best price because we installed off season (Dec).

He really knows his stuff but I will warn you, he has no personality... tried joking with him and... crickets... cricketsChat Icon
