certain comments are already starting to p!ss me off

I just found out today for sure that this is a girl and we're soooo happy!! BUT I keep getting so mad at these dumb@ss comments about how you can't really be sure.

When I told my mom, she was like "Well I wouldn't go buying pink stuff though just in case"

When I texted one of my friends she wrote back "I don't know. I still think it's a boy"

Then after my announcement on FB one of my friends wrote about a family member who was told it was a girl when in fact it ended up being a boy



These comments are really starting to make me angry and it's hard not to answer back with attitude. If you're dealing with this, how do you handle it??

I refuse to spend the remainder of this pregnancy saying "we THINK it's a girl". No, it's a girl. Otherwise what's the point of a sono if we can't trust them? I plan to celebrate this little girl and shop for her (and keep receipts for just in case. lol). I don't understand why people can't just be like "That's wonderful news! Girls are awesome" rather than saying nonsense like "Oh, but you can't REALLY be sure".

Just ignore them and shop to your heart's content.

you just have to ignore them. Everyone is going to have an opinion.

There are tons of people everyday that find out the gender of the baby and its right, I'm sure there are only a handful that are wrong. (I've only known one person they said my nephew was a girl and it was a boy)

I say shop till you drop buying pink and ignore everyone. People will always be dumb

Peoples comments when you are pregnant are by far the stupidest comments I've ever heard.

Don't listen to them and shop to your hearts content!

I hear comments like this and I haven't even found out the sex yet. People are annoying. I would just plain ignore them and do what makes you happy. Those tests are pretty damn accurate these days. Some people are way old fashioned.

My mom actually asked the sono tech at our last appointment if determining the gender is even accurate. The sono tech even said it's pretty darn accurate.

The only person I heard comments like this from was my mom, and she only said them because she wanted me to be team . I told her she's ruining my pregnancy (which was a slight exaggeration to say the least, haha), and she hasn't said anything since. Also, when I went to find out the gender, I asked the doctor how sure she can be on it. She said that they can never say 100%, but they daily tell people they can't detect the gender unless they are absolutely sure and get a clear picture.

Ugh people are so freakin stupid and have their own selfish agendas. Try to ignore the haters!!!!!

We got the same comments from people when we found out and it bugged me to all heck! Sometimes I confronted people and said "why would you say that? can't you just be happy for us?" and sometimes I'd say "good luck with that theory" and roll my eyes.

It's really hard, but try not to let them get to you, and enjoy your pregnancy!

It's so silly. It will never make sense to me, what people say! I never understood this before getting pregnant but now I do!

That happened to me too b/c everyone was so sure I was having a girl. AT this point I've seen his little pee pee 3 times so I am pretty positive....lol. But after the first sono I definitely wanted to see a second one!

MOST of the time the techs are right...so I'd go with what they say!

People will always find something obnoxious to say. It's like pregnant women have a target on them that says 'Please make a stupid comment now.' I know it's hard to do, but just brush these comments off.

People were making the opposite comments to me. We are having a boy and some people would always be like 'Are you SUREEEEEEE it's a boy... your butt is getting big' or 'I still think it's a girl...'. ANNOYING!

I confirm at very sono. I tell them i have no clue what it is yet. At 37 weeks i saw our and he IS A BOY. lol

thanks!! These people just make me soooo mad!!!! I've been so excited to find out, and then to have people make me QUESTION it is just plain cruel! I know that's not their intentions, but that's what's happening. Sonos can't be wrong THAT often so I'm going to trust it and prepare for my little girl. if something happens in the end and it DOES end up being a little boy, I will be surprised, happy, and just return the pink stuff I bought. Not that big a deal. No need to 'worry' about it now.

Just try to ignore them. I had a person, after I delivered DD, say damn, I really thought it was going to be a boy!! I had seriously 20 sonos after mt 20 week, it was comfirmed, without a doubt it was a girl!!

of course it happens... even the doctor told you that... but 90-95% is a pretty damn good chance they are correct...

either ignore them or tell them that youre not an idiot and know there is a chance they are wrong and youre not stupid enough to throw away reciepts!

please repond to them rudely we need to teach this A&& holes thats it 2010 !!!!!!! here are some of my suggestions:

First put on your most condescending voice and then tilt your head like you are talking to a 2 year old and say the following:

" you are right i am prob not even pregnant, i just swallowed a basketball"

"yes you are sooo right you can never can be to sure , I mean there is also a 95 percent chance its a puppy not a baby "


"you are so right I mean my son prob just has such a small weiner or my daughter has one big CLIT"

Paint the room, go shopping and ignore all these people. They are so irritating. My mother was the same way. She was adamant i was having a boy, and she just can't accept she.... Gasp.... Was wrong!!!!!!!

lol. thanks. Christmas DID finally come!

As for everybody else - thanks for your advice on how to handle it. People need to get a life. It's hard for me to be nice when people say dumb things, so I always give a bit of attitude and I probably will continue to until people learn to keep their mouths shut.
