Changing kitchen chair seats

The seats of our kitchen chairs are upholstered and they are a disaster. I have recovered them twice, but my kids are constantly spilling on them. I'd like to figure out a way to replace the fabric with a wood seat.

Does anyone know of a site where I could buy seat bottoms?? I don't need it to match the stain, my chairs are a light wood so I would love to do a darker seat. Is that even possible.

DH is very handy, I could have him make seat bottoms but I was trying to save him the time and trouble.

for the price it would cost you to do that, I'd opt for just swapping out the chairs with all wood chairs (Ikea sells good ones that are cheap and easy to put together)
