changing of schedule at 15 months??

for the longest time, luce was 9-7:30/8 sleeper. never did the full 12 hours but really didn't go down earlier than 8"30 and usually around 9.

lately he's been waking up around 6 am every morning and is DONE by 7. my routine is built around his old sleep schedule so he's still been going down around 8, 8:30 but he's a TIRED TIRED boy for that final hour.

should I try to put him down earlier? I am nervous that he'll consider it a nap and wake up at 9 when I am about to pass out.

these last few days have been MURDER on me. so hard. b/c I haven't been going to bed any earlier. I am not used to these 6 am wake up calls. Chat Icon

and plus, with dh's work load now, putting him to bed earlier is going to impact how much time he gets with him but at the same time, I want to be true to his internal clock. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Is he taking a nap(s) during the day? I would definately put him down earlier, for your and his sake. However, that does not guarentee he won't wake up at 6am still. I doubt he will be waking up at 9 again, unless he had a long nap too close to his (new) bedtime. I put DS to bed early (6:30-7) DH doesn't see him when he gets home and he's still sleeping when DH leaves in the am but I'm more concerned with DS's sleep, he will sleep 12hrs. So I don't keep him up at night bc regardless of what time I put him down he wakes up at the same time in the am.

C's schedule is similar. He now goes down about 7-7:30 and sleeps for 12 hours. A few months ago he was sleeping at 6-6:30, then it slowly went up to 8-8:30 and now it seemed to settle in the 7 o'clock hour. DH was coming home only 1/2 hour before i started DS's bath, they barely got any time together but it was really for C's sake, he just couldnt take being awake any longer and it was so upsetting to see him so overtired. It only lasted about 2 months. You never know when their schedule will change again. I would adapt to him for now and put him to bed earlier. It wont be forever! Chat Icon

DS has been the same way (14 months). Since dropping to one nap, he is out by 7:30pm (used to stay up until 8:30pm). And he wakes up screaming between 5am and 6am (this morning it was 4:30am). If it's after 5am, I'll bring him in my bed and he'll go back to sleep until DH gets up at 7am.

DS is 7pm - 6:30-7:00am. I used him as a guide when working this schedule. It should also be noted that regardless of the time I put him down (there have been times he has stayed up until 8 and a little after) he always gets up at the same time.
