Charley Horse

I had one at 1:30 am this morning and it hurt so bad!!! I was jumping around screaming like a freak because I had no idea how to get rid of the pain. My calf still hurts today!! Do these become more frequent in the 3rd trimester? I've never had one wake me up out of sleep!

I'm in the same boat as you... So painful. I get them 2-3 nights a week.

Re: Charley Horse

You need to drink more water and eat a banana every day. I have also been doing calf exercises every day and I haven't had a charlie horse in months. Just do those exercises where you stand up on your toes, up and down. I do 60 a day and it worked for me.

Re: Charley Horse

Someone told me to drink more milk. I had them for a few weeks half way through my pregnancy and then they disappeared. I remember my doc telling my dh that it was his job to get out of bed and flex my foot and massage them out. I loved him for that!

Hope yours disappear quickly as well.

Re: Charley Horse

My friend told me how to get rid of the charlie horse, DONT stand up, remain lying down and kick your leg out (the one cramping of course) and push the heel out and try and bring your toes towards your shin and really stretch it..

I hope you understand what im describing.. it REALLY WORKS!!! I used to get really bad charlie horses and once i started this i didnt have to deal with them.

I used to get something like a charlie horse but in my one upper arm into my shoulder.. felt like a knife.. ohhh myyy it was soooo painful, i would wake up screaming in pain and my DH would try so hard to massage it out...
