Charters - come on in! *Update: 10/2
Before you look at the chart and get excited like I did, here's some background information.
Yesterday I first woke up at 4:50 and temped - it was 97.77. I went back to sleep and woke up again at 5:20 and temped again - it was 98.36. I normally wake up around 5:30-5:40 which are my usual temping times.
I'm confused about yesterday's temp. I asked FF which to use and they said to use the first temp since it was after 3 consecutive hours of sleep.
Now I'm wondering if that temp was so low because it was so early? Or if it could be an implantation dip. Today's temp is back up - 98.4
Now if I had used the second temp, the temps wouldn't have a dip at all... It would be (starting 5 dpo) 98.13, 98.26, 98.36, 98.4 - instead of now, 98.13, 98.26, 97.77, 98.4.
What do you think? Temp was too early or implantation dip?

Re: Charters - come on in!
you gave me the option - so i had to discuss the fact that you stink/smell. I'm sorry -there is always a strange aroma coming from your posts -maybe that's why i don't respond to them.
That being said - you know i'm not all knowing about this and based on yesterday's temp - i don't know what to make of it. Unfortunately, we're gunna have to wait this one out...

I so wanted to hit Maybemommy stinks!
Did you adjust your temperature time? Or are you just going by the time you took your temp? If that is the case, then I would think it is only that temperature because it was so early. I would do the temp corrector.
ETS: I ALWAYS have a dip on either day 6, 7, or 8, I don't know if maybe that is the case for you as well.

Tempting, isn't it? Just thought I'd add that option in case anyone doesn't like me and wants to let me know (COUGH *jess* COUGH, thanks!)
I didn't adjust the time. FF always says not to use the temp corrector. The funny thing is that it DIDN'T come up as an open circle... does that mean anything? I have temped this cycle anywhere from 4:50 (that one time) to 5:45 and they are all closed circles right now.
I've never had a temperature dip during the 2WW before.

Re: Charters - come on in!
I wonder why they say not to adjust the time? Whenever I do my chart makes so much more sense and is much more consistent to the months when i do not need to correct my temps. Did you get up and move around when you woke up the first time? Or did you just take your temp and go back to sleep?
I don't know about the closed circle. But maybe just adjust the temp (you don't have to put it in the chart) just to see what the temp would be had you woken up at the normal time. Perhaps you will still get the dip.

I didn't get up at all, I just went back to sleep.
I don't know what my "normal" time would be for this month though, since I've been waking up at different times between 5:05 and 5:45

Re: Charters - come on in!
If you just woke up and went back to sleep i would use the second temp since it is closer to the normal time you have been waking up. But I am no expert, so maybe go with what FF tells you to do. :)

what's an implantation dip?
From FF:
What causes an "implantation dip?"
The term implantation dip is often used to refer to a luteal phase dip that occurs around the time of expected implantation (7-10 days past ovulation). While this pattern does not always result in pregnancy, the term is often used because of the timing of the dip and because this pattern appears with greater frequency on pregnancy charts than non-pregnancy charts. There are a couple of factors that may help to explain why this pattern appears with greater frequency on pregnancy charts.
1. The corpus luteum (which produces the heat inducing hormone, progesterone) normally peaks in its production of progesterone and then begins to recede around the middle of the luteal phase. In conception cycles, it is "rescued" when the embryo implants and then continues to produce progesterone until the placenta can take over hormone production. 2. Estrogen, in opposition to progesterone, has a lowering effect on temperatures. A secondary estrogen surge in the middle of the luteal phase may cause a temperature dip at this time. Indeed this may explain why this pattern also occurs on non-pregnant charts. Mid-luteal phase estrogen levels, however, have been found to be higher in conception cycles than non-conception cycles and this may also contribute to the greater frequency with which we see this pattern on pregnancy charts.
When you see a mid-luteal phase dip on your chart, however, it does not necessarily mean that you are pregnant. Likewise, you do not have to see this pattern to be pregnant. As long as you have intercourse in your fertile time, you have a chance to be pregnant with any ovulation pattern.

Re: Charters - come on in!
I don't think there is a big difference between 4:50 and 5:30 where charting is concerned, so I would go with the first temp and consider it an implantation dip.
ETA: I had an implantation dip at 7DPO when I got pregnant with DS.
Good luck! I think the chart looks good!

I noticed the dip in your chart of FF and that was the first thing I thought of. I don't have any advice but I am hoping for implantation for you!!!!

Re: Charters - come on in!
UPDATE:
I asked the same question on FF since most people there are charters, and here's what I got:
80% (12 people) said Implantation Dip 13% (2 people) said Temped too early 6% (1 person) said Not sure.
Some responses:
"I say leave it at the first temp, like you have it. You didn't take your first temp that much earlier than normal. If you used the temp corrector it would only raise it .1 for a half an hour. I say it could be an ID!!! But only time will tell... It is difficult to tell PG for temps alone, so don't stress about tww temps anyway!"
"to be honest the first temp is not really too early. it probably wouldn't have been much diffferent if at all for only 30-40 mins. I would really not read into that temp though. it might be misleading God bless"
"i would also go with the first temp, in which case it *does* look like a lovely ID. i don't mean to get your hopes up unnecessarily, but it looks awesome!"
"I agree it's not that far from your usual temping time. I could be an implantation dip but you won't know until it's time to test!"

You know what? I read your first wake up time wrong. I thought you woke up earlier then you did. I'm sorry! I should read more carefully. Since it is not that much earlier then yes, I say keep the temp and I am praying very hard that it is an implantation dip! I can't wait till Wednesday now!
