cheap, but nice hotel near Disney
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to stay as close to the parks as possible, but not spend a fortune.
Doesn't need to be a fancy hotel, but not a dump either! LOL!
Thanks!

You may actually be better off staying on disney property at one of the basic resorts. They are comparable in price, but if you package your trip, it may come out cheaper.

What do you consider cheap? A price per night might help us give you some suggestions.

Orange lake gets great reviews and is next door to AK. You can get a 2 bedroom villa for under $150/nite depending on the time of year. We are planning on October and its $136/nite for 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom villa is $110.

Why not stay at a value hotel on Disney property?

There are literally dozens of hotels you can find for $150 or less a night. TONS!! Disney Value resorts are less than $150 a night most nights. Are you flying or driving? If flying, then you get free transportation to the Disney resort. If you stay off site, you have to rent a car, which can be a chunk of change depending on when you are going.

i agree that a room at one of the disney "Value" resorts, like Pop Century would be around that... and you would have the free disney transportation to and from the airport, plus the whole time you're there, too... would save money on a rental car. and you will be able to put in for "fast passes" 60 days ahead for 3 rides each day, so you can skip some of the ride lines.... and extra hours at some of the disney parks. I also have heard people get good deals renting from people who own timeshares on disney property.
