Check out this excuse I got....(Etsy Related)
I ordered a custom roman shade for Alexandra's room and sent the vendor the fabric. Ii have followed up a couple times just to check on the status and did again this morning.
This is the response I got -
"I apologize, I haven't forgotten about you. I have been in a really stressful
way lately. I have had a rough last couple of months. We had a death in our
family and had to go out of town to deal with the funeral not to mention I have

my 16 month old daughter. We were due in court this past Thursday and I have
been a nervous wreck for a month as the date has gotten closer because he was
trying to take my daughter just to hurt me because I wouldn't put it with his
verbal abuse anymore. I had to take on as many orders as I could from January
until now because my lawyer fees were breaking me. I am trying to get everyone's
order taken care of and make everyone happy but I am the one in my family that
makes the roman shades and I am only one person. I work until 2:00 am every
morning trying to catch up. Please accept my apology. I have been doing
everything I can to run my business and not have a panic
attack every 30 minutes worrying about what was going to happen. Luckily the
judge saw through his lies and everything turned out ok for me and my girls. Now
I can get back to just focusing on my work now that this is all over. Please
forgive me. It is my goal to send yours out by the beginning of this coming
week.
I really can't afford a bad feedback so please please don't leave one. I will be
more than happy to discount your order or make you a free roman shade or valance
in the future. "
I wasn't expecting a life story! If it's true, I fee bad for her!

Wow.... she really opened up to you. Well, if it is true (which I don't see why she'd go into such detail if it wasn't) then it sounds like things are hopefully picking up for her.
I don't think she needed to put all that personal info in the email though. Hope things turn around for her

I won't leave her bad feedback unless it taes her another 2 months to ship or unless the quality sux, but then I feel bad for people reading the ratings, KWIM?

I'd bet anything that she was having an anxiety attack as she typed that up. She sounds like she's at the end of her rope!
I wouldn't leave her negative feed back, but I'd still be annoyed.

Wow! She def didnt need to tell her life story...geez. I do feel bad for her but that sounds more like a letterr to a friend then a customer. She should have just refunded the money and apoligized...

It's unprofessional, yes. But, as someone going through a divorce currently...sometimes I overshare with strangers because it's necessary to release the feelings or stress without having to burden your family and friends...everytime, KWIM? As a business person, I probably wouldn't send this to a client, but I think she is just trying to let you know that she is doing her best. Ask my friends...I overshare way too much these days 
But, I hope you get your shade soon.

Wow. She really must be stressed to even tell you all that she has. I feel bad for her, she seems she is trying to keep it together but is failing. Take the discount and don't leave a negative review. I hope for her sake that she didn't make this up just to buy more time.

I agree.
She probably shouldn't have taken on so many orders but we all know times are tough and it sounds like she was doing what she needed to do.
I probably wouldn't leave bad feedback unless she doesn't deliver in a reasonable time from this excuse.

Yes, maybe it's an overshare, but to those of you who are ready to jump down this woman's throat--would you have given her the benefit of the doubt if she just responded with, "Sorry I haven't gotten your shade done, I've been a little busy". Somehow, I don't think so...I know I probably wouldn't.
I think it's nice that she told you what's going on so that you can decide for yourself what to do.

I have heard that there are numerous vendors that use these types of oversahre excuses on etsy. Alot of girls on LIW experienced it. Personally I wouldnt leave ANY feedback. Not good, not bad..just nothing..
