Checking in from the hospital! My baby is here!!!
Hello ladies!
I know FelandJon updated everyone that I had the baby. Well, there were definitely a couple of surprises!
1) I was convinced that I was going to be at least 3-5 days late with this baby. Turns out, I went into labor on my due date and had her the next morning.
2) I was convinced, as was mostly everyone else, that we were having another boy. Well, turns out IT'S A GIRL!!!  
So for all of you ladies who get frustrated when you go for your internals and are told there is no progress, it is possible to have the baby not long after that.
I started feeling a little crampy during the day on Wednesday (my due date). It was more than the usual Braxton Hicks that I had been feeling, more menstrual crampy but nothing really regular. By Wednesday evening, I was feeling them more so I started writing down the times. I noticed that from about 8:30 until around 10 they were coming every 8 minutes (and I still wondered if I could have been going into labor!).
I called my doctor and the midwife called back. Told me when they got to be 5 minutes apart to head to the hospital. My water never broke. I never lost any mucus plug. The only thing I had was the crampy contractions.
I called my mom and she came over around 11:30 because someone had to stay with DS. DH and I got everything together and headed to the hospital around 12:30 that night since the contractions were closer together.
Got to the hospital around 1:00, they checked me in and I was already 4 cm!  Got the epidural around 2:15 and at 4:48 my daughter was born!
I was AMAZED at how fast this experience was. So different than my birth experience with DS. I only had to push through about 3-4 contractions for Caitlin to come out. I didn't tear as bad. I am not as sore. It was wonderful!
So, we now have Caitlin Elizabeth to join her big brother Lucas Patrick. Lucas can't come visit at the hospital due to the new H1N1 visitor policy. He's spending time with multiple grandparents. We go home tomorrow morning and Lucas will get to meet her then.
She was a big girl.... 8 pounds 13 ounces! Tops her brother who was 8 pounds 7 ounces. Guess I make nice size babies! 
Anyway, I am just so happy and overjoyed. DH has been doing such a good job changing black tar sticky poop girl diapers!!!
I hope my fellow December 9 mommies are doing well!!!
