Cheese fondue recipes, please!

Anyone have a great cheese fondue recipe?

Preferably one that's pretty sharp and does not include gouda. :)

Thanks!

I use this one as my starter but pretty much follow the suggestions of the first reviewer. It makes a lot but I don't see that as a problem!Chat Icon

Cheese fondue recipes, please!

Rub the entire fondue pot down with a clove of garlic

Shred up any cheese you want- I usually do Swiss/Gruyere
Toss the shredded cheese with flour to coat

When pot is hot I pour in the Dry white wine (If your doing with kids or even don't like the wine taste we have used ginger ale and it tastes just as good!) Sprinkle in some salt, pepper, dash of nutmeg

Let wine/ale come to a boil then start tossing in your cheese making sure your first handful melts and blends before tossing in the next.

I can't eat fondue without ham, french bread, and soft pretzels!!! yum!

cheddar
dark beer (I like guiness)
garlic
worchester sauce
pinch of baking powder (so cheese stays gooey and doesnt clump)
cracked pepper

i do it all to taste. I like it to have a sharp bite.

deeeeeeeeeeeeeeelicious.

i then use italian bread and green apple slices as dippers
