Child Support Question
EX now wants to use some type of payment system called VENMO VENMO to pay CS, it seems to be like a paypal but transmitted through your cell. He is ALWAYS behind and has sent so many bad checks that I will only take a money order from him. He lives in FL and claims he is always travelling on business and this would make it easier.
Opinions please

Re: Child Support Question
I would read up with the procedures on withdrawing the money from that account. Some of them require you to have certain premier status or they have crazy fees and/or only allow you to withdraw a certain daily/monthly limit.
Do you both bank with the same banking institution? if you do, you can set it up so he can transfer the money into your account and he can use his mobile to access. I bank with chase and bank of america and I use my cell to make transactions.
You can also suggest he set up an account with western union. he can send you money that you can pick up at any western union..
Also, if you have a paypal account (check and see if you have premier status, if not, get it (it'll ask you to verify some banking/cc info), you can have him open up one and you'll be able to wire the money to yourself and have it available in a few days.
GL!

Re: Child Support Question
You can get a money order from 7-11 or Wal-Mart for $1.
What does your div agreement say?
Mine says ex will pay every 2 weeks since he is on a bi-weekly pay schedule. We agreed he's transfer the money into my account (we have the same bank). He works for a small company and I didn't want to garnish his wages b/c I think it looks a little "dead-beat dad'ish".
Maybe you should explore the garnishment of wages route if he is being difficult.

Re: Child Support Question
He is "supposed" to pay me the 1st and 15th of every month. Yeah like that happens. For the amount of $ he pays for his son, going to court is not worth it. He lives in FL, probably works off the books and has everything in wife #4's name

Re: Child Support Question
If you're in Suffolk, I would go down to CSEB and ask them to do the paperwork for automatic deductions from his paycheck and just stop the madness.

I agree. They will take it right out of his paycheck and then he doesn't need to worry about writing a check.

What if he doesn't draw a paycheck?

Re: Child Support Question
I feel that with some people they would rather work off the books for less money so you couldn't garnish the wages. Its sad that he won't step up and support his son.

Re: Child Support Question
It is sad, especially since he is a great kid!! I can only imagine the battle we will have over him helping with college. Thank goodness I have $$ put away and my son got a partial scholarship.
