"Children Playing" sign

I want to get one for my block. I assume I have to call the town. Are they difficult to obtain?

Yes! The children at play sign is what I want but I assumed I had to get permission from the town. I would want it at the ends of my block. People fly down the street & it's a curved road to sight is limited. It's dangerous!

You can buy the signs on line, but I don't know if it is ok to just go putting them wherever you want without calling the town.

Yes, this guy nailed it to his own tree so I'm not even sure where he got it. I ould just call up your town hall and ask them about it

You can buy those signs to stick out in the road at TRU, I have one I bought there. As for the ones stuck on the poles, I feel like NO ONE pays attention to those. The ones that go IN the street while kids are outside seem to garner more attention.

Just call the town and request one for your street.....I did it when I used to live in the Town of Hempstead.
I requested that a "CHILDREN AT PLAY" sign be put up on our corner. (at the opening to our cul-de-sac)
It took a few weeks for them to send someone out to assess the area.

I agree. I think the little men that stand in the street are much better for catching people's attention. I bet many wouldn't even notice the sign on a pole. Also, I've seen them before and wondered how old the sign was, the child could now be in college.
