Christening Gown out of Wedding dress
I remember some old posts about this....
I am looking to make a christening outfit for my DS out of my wedding dress.
Can anyone please tell me where I can go to get this done? How long does it take and how much does it cost roughly?
I was thinking of having maybe a gown made so my DS and perhaps if I have a future DD that they can both wear it... Or should I just make a suit for DS and a dress for a future DD?
Thanks

You need to find a good seamstress near you. Or if you are comfortable, ask Janet, she seemed like she really knew what she was doing with sewing.
As long as K is comfortable with Logan wearing a dress that's what I'd do, it's such a nice tradition to start. I recall your dress having a detailed overlay that was very feminine looking, might not look right on a suit. But maybe I'm getting dresses mixed up, it was a while ago.

By the way Cathy.. I love the new pictures.. they are sooo cute.

Re: Christening Gown out of Wedding dress
I was actually going to make my own, once I had the level II, but darn carpal tunnel stopped that. I decided to take my gown to the dressmaker that worked on my wedding gown. I asked her to make the gown mainly from my train, so it's fairly plain. If I have a girl next, then we will add more puffiness and beadwork. It's costing $200. I will have it in 2 weeks, if you want to see it. She's in Coram. Also, a dressmaker was recommended to me in Islip Terrace. FM me if you want any details.

I don't blame you for feeling weird. I didn't know if you still talked to her. I do once in a blue moon, but it's getting less and less.
And thanks! Your little guy is getting big! I can never decide who I see more of in his face.

I didn't have it done because I ended up being sick and had so much going on, but I've had some great recommendations about Designing Dreams on Jericho Turnpike in Mineola.
