Christening Locations (home versus venue opinions)

Hi Ladies! I am looking for recs for a Christening location on the South shore (Islip, Babylon, Bayshore, that general area). It would be for about 20 people...just immediate family and close friends. I am also considering hosting it at our home, but I'm not sure if I want to do that. Any preference or opinions?

Also, I had my bridal shower at milk and sugar and my baby shower at Carriage House. Dont want to repeat those venues. Chat Icon

I preferred to have ours at a restaurant. Can't enjoy it when it's at home. Too much cleaning, prep, cooking & aggravation. Then you have to worry if people are entertained, if they're squished at the table.. We found something within budget & it was nice having no clean up! Chat Icon

We ended up having ours at home but we looked at:

Horace & Sylvias
The Post Office
Teller's
Victorian Room (part of Milk & Sugar)
Don Riccardo's
Maxwells

We had ours at my in laws house- we live in a co-op so they offered up their house. I liked having it at home, for us, it was more relaxing. The brunch started around noon and some people left by 2, others stayed until 5 just hanging out. It was casual and laid back. Even though we had to set up and clean up ourselves, I just liked it better. We are having DS first birthday at a park and I am already super stressed!

We are going through the same thing. We are having more people though (around 50), either way I would prefer to have it at a restaurant.
I am also looking for locations in that area and east to Patchogue.
