Christening related ?
my dh and i will be baptizing our daughter in sept.
when do we give the godparents the gifts from us to them? after the ceremony at the church? before the reception?

im not 100% sure, but i would say before the church when you are getting the baby ready

We got them a flat screen and took it to their house the night before.

You're so sweet and thoughtful for giving your child's godparents gifts. My BIL and babymomma didn't even THANK us that day, NOR DID THEY SNAP ONE PHOTO!

When we baptized our goddaughter, her parents gave us a gift at the end of the reception.

We gave them picture frames with pictures of Colin in them and a promise of a Godparents day at the Bronx Zoo!

I like this idea!! DH and I were just wondering if we should give a gift and if so, what.... Although, I wouldn't put Colin's picture in...I'll put Alex's in..

I would say it depends on the gift. If it's a necklace (you could even have the birthstone on it), or other jewelery, I would give it before the ceremony, so they could wear it. If it was something bigger (photo in a nice frame), then probably after the ceremony, so they don't have to worry about it during the event. Something bigger (I'm not sure about that... maybe a sapling they could plant in their yard or something?) I would bring it to their house, either a day or so before, or a day or so after, but mention that you have something for them on the day.

We're having DD's christening this sunday. The godparents are coming to the apartment to help get her dressed, then we'll walk to the church together. I'll give them their presents before the ceremony.
We bought the godmother earrings and the godfather a watch.
