Christening RSVP date 2 weeks before; did I make it too late?

I mailed the invitations almost 2 weeks ago for July 24th. The RSVP date is 2 weeks before. Only 2 families responded so far. I know I have an entire month until then but I hate not knowing! Its at a hall. Should I have made it more than a 2 week period? Do people usually wait for that date? Its SOOO annoying! Chat Icon

Definitely not too late. People always wait until the last minute to RSVP. When you are throwing the party it can get really frustrating!

DS's Christening is on June 27th. I put my RSVP date as June 20th. Didn't help that I just sent them out last week....Chat Icon

LOL...I sent them out last Friday...The caterer needs a final head count 3 days prior to the event. Chat Icon

Is the RSVP date July 10th? If so I'm not sure why you're getting so annoyed then....I do think people wait for that date so that can make sure they can come or not. Halls require a head count 1 week before the event (they really only need to know the count 3 days before) so no worries. I don't think anyone you invited is being rude because they're not rsvping before the rspv date.

I don't think you made it too late. I did the same thing.

I am getting responses in slowly as well for DS' Christening. I can see where you are frustrated, even though you gave them until 7/10 - you would expect a chunk of RSVPs right away and then the rest to trickle in (like I did) so you can plan things like favors and centerpieces.

Exactly what I thought!

I didnt say I thought people are being rude. I'm just venting that I'm annoyed.
