Re: Christmas Trees...
Yes...I collect Lenox ornaments and each year we get the annual snowflake and a florentine design. If something happens that year then we get a special ornament as well...like the year we got married we got the bride and groom personalized with our names and this year we are getting the Christmas in our New Home ornament.
But it's not just the lenox...I have a country christmas theme going as well as for as strange as it might sound...the two go very nice together.
So the colors on my tree tend to be cream, green and red.

Re: Christmas Trees...
My theme is generally gold, amber, and clear (glass). Sometimes I put some silver/metallic in there too.
Years ago, my mom started a collection of ornaments for me. Every Christmas, she would buy me about 10 ornaments so that once I had my own house, I would have everything I needed. Now I have more ornaments than I can fit on my tree.

Re: Christmas Trees...
Do you do a theme? *The family room tree is usually gold (lots of glitter & crystal), creme and bronze.
*dining room tree just coordinates w/the colors of the dining room (burgundy and gold). Victorian styled ornaments: cherubs, filligree, mirrors and velvet ribbons.
The same every year? Or change it up each year? *I have different colors for the family room tree (sage, plum, orange/pumpkin colors), but tend to always mix in gold with them.
*dining room tree is the same every year.
Collect certain kinds of ornaments? *not yet b/c I hate just having a few of one type of ornament. I do intend to do a Radko tree in an urn at some point (probably in the hallway).
*I do have a collection of hand beaded ornaments that my mom made when she was pregnant with me (they're beautiful and I loved them as a child), but I haven't displayed them on a tree yet.

Re: Christmas Trees...
Real tree, colored lights, with assorted ornaments. I have a few from when I was younger and I will be making the boys an ornament each year that they can put on thier own trees when they get older.

we have no theme
we used color mini lights
and we have ornaments like hallmark ones muppets, peanuts, rudolph, star wars, batman...etc
we have glass blown ornaments
our tree is a a little bit of everything!
But I love just laying there on the couch staring at all the different ornaments
sounds like our tree. I love that everything we have has a memory. From his bears helmet, to our first christmas living together, to Bella's first christmas...they all make me smile with a different feeling!

We usually do white lights. DH and I collect ornaments from places we vacationed or visited.

Re: Christmas Trees...
white lights- burgandy and gold- most ornaments are the shiny, glass bown ornaments. They are very expensive though so I fill in with shiny balls.
