after seeing these prices, i'm wondering why the heck i didnt listen to DH and go to LI for a tree! we spent $110 on a 7' frasier in the the city

We just cut ours down today in Calverton/Ridge..$30 for any size tree
My BIL/SIL did this too, they have a gorgeous 9.5 foot tree!
Unfortunately, we don't have the time to go so far- we got ours at Home Depot- they had the best prices (after going to 2 tree lots and a nursery)
We got a 6' tree for $29

We paid $55 for a 10' at Jones Tree Farm in Shelton, CT. (All cut-your-own are $55. Pre-cuts are charged by the foot.)

Ours was $55 from the Holbrook Fire Dept.
Kerry - we went there Sat night and found the selection not so great and a little expensive. So we left and went to the one in K-mart shopping center.
Did you get a good tree from them?

We just got our tree. It was 7ft. and it cost 26.00 at home depot.

this year we got a mini potted tree from home depot for $20
In my nabe, tree prices are OFF THE HOOK.
I mean, over $100 ridiculous for a tree that would be tall enough to look good in our apt. (very high ceilings)
when I was little, we'd get a full 7/8' tree very full for about $30 (in the same nabe)
now you can even get the scraps to make a wreath for that price.
they blame it on the price of gas...yeah..ok my man.

yea, we're happy with it. We had them cut it down to about 6.5 feet. Its a little too wide for our place, but Dave was persistant.

You can get trees MUCH cheaper than $100, hence all the prices we've listed. If you are willing to drive a little into LI, then you could def. get one for $50.

Prices (and the trees themselves) looked very reasonable at Home Depot.
Yup. We got ours at Home Depot for $26

ha...you've never seen my car.
we barely fit the mini tree in there...
it's not even the point though..it's disgusting what has happened to my nabe (in a backwards kind of way)
