CIO-Night two

Well it took 1 hour and 25 minutes but hes ASLEEP! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

After a disasterous attemot at a crib nap that took 4 hours of my day and wasted it...We both fell alseep in the bed Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon for a long nap this afternoon..then we went out.

I tried a long bath, then a bottle, then 2 books and transferred to crib.

I had to stand in there holding his hand and rocking him with my hand while he laid there for about 40 minutes. I tried to leave a few times and hysterics broke out.

Finally he started to just "whine" and I knew it was my cue to leave.

45 minutes of whining and he just passed out half sitting up from exhaustion.

SOOOOOOOO

the lesson I learned is a long nap in the mid day might be the solution. Instead of 2-3 mini naps?

Not sure, but its a start.

anyone wanna bet on how long he sleeps Chat Icon

Thanks for ALL the advice over the last day or few! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Am sure I will need more!

Re: CIO-Night two

Yay!!

I've noticed Emma sleeps better at night when she actually naps for an extended period of time during the day.

Re: CIO-Night two

i'm so glad to hear this...i know it was long and rough but this could just be the beginning and each day it will get easier. I've noticed in the last two weeks DS's nap schedule changing so maybe what used to work for Noah is changing too. Good job!!! I predict he sleeps all night too and naps like a champ tomorrow!!!!!!

My only advice is keep up with it.
Make it a routine. Tomorrow he can be off, but then the next night it might work again - be consistent!!

I have to agree. One long nap is great! Better than a bunch of mini naps.
I think he will sleep through the night.
Definitley be consistent and make a routine out of it.
By this time next week, it will be a lot easier.Chat Icon

Great advice!

Keep it up Donna! Chat Icon

I firmly believe that sleep begets sleep and those long naps definitely help. Lucas does best when he has his 2 hour nap during the day.

Re: CIO-Night two

Glad that CIO finally worked for you guys.. iChat Icon Keep it up and keep consistent, I learned the hard way that consistency is key!

CIO was a LIFESAVER for us, and I started late too, at about 11 months old (hardest thing I EVER did, but now we have a pretty fantastic sleeper over here Chat Icon)
