CIO questions
SO I have some CIO questions.
Do you let DC just cry, or do you go in there? and if you go in there, do you pick up DC or do you just try and soothe them without picking them up? Do you get them to stop crying before you leave them alone again? How often do you go in there or after how long?
I have tried CIO before but it never seemed to work. DS would cry for over an hour and if we went in there he would cry harder unless we picked him up and then as soon as he would stop and we would put him down he would start crying again. Maybe I am doing something wrong but it did not work for DS.

Re: CIO questions
Ugh...I feel your pain.
I have had to do this a couple of times with DD. She goes through phases where she can fall asleep on her own. But this week she is screaming her head off in the crib and standing and jumping to get out!
So last night we tried the CIO method. I have no idea if we were doing it right, but we would lay her down with her binky in the crib and leave. She would stand up and cry...we would wait a minute...go back in and lay her down again. We did this increasing the amount of minutes we would wait before going back in. IT WAS TORTURE and felt like a year. But it only took 10 minutes and she did fall asleep.
