City Mini Double Stroller - Pros? Cons?
I was thinking about getting this stroller for my kids since they will be so close in age. It can be used with my Graco infant carrier, so that's a huge plus.
Any pros? Cons?
TIA!!! Image Attachment(s):

Re: City Mini Double Stroller - Pros? Cons?
I love love love my single. It is a breeze to fold and unfold and I have done it , and thrown it in my trunk one handed with Sadie on my hip millions of times.
It has a AWESOME sunshade with two windows and reclines very easily.
The only negative thing I can say is that the seat can never sit completely straight upright. It is always a slight recline. If you check it out, youll see what I mean.
Some people say the basket is hard to get to on the bottom- it is small, but it never bothered me. I am much happier with a smaller basket than a heavy stroller.

Re: City Mini Double Stroller - Pros? Cons?
I know it is a very popular stroller because they have an attachment bar for one side that you can rest the graco car seat into the stroller. I have to admit this is a wonderful feature and was really tempting. I feel like it is middle of the road between the heavier tandem strollers and the lightweight ones. I looked at it back in June when I started to research double strollers. It is a side by side and IMO felt huge. DS did not love it and that was honestly the deciding factor for me. It was a pia to close, but DS could sit in it and has a full recline. It was only 26 lbs which was a plus. I just did not love it.
I decided on the Maclaren twin and am going with a snuzler and will just transfer DD from her car seat to the stroller b/c it was much lighter.

Thanks for the input so far.
What other double strollers out there have seats that sit totally upright AND recline? Gianna will hate this when she gets older. She does like sitting upright when I walk with her, especially in stores, etc.

Re: City Mini Double Stroller - Pros? Cons?
If you do a search under my name LSP2005 in the parenting board and type in city mini I gave mini reviews of a lot of double strollers.
I will say although the city mini reclines it does not sit upright well. There is always a slight recline to it.
For side by side I think the peg perego aria twin lets them sit up right. The only problem is that the side for the older child 40% is narrow, and my DS is only in the 25% for weight but he was squished. You would think the 60% is for the older child but it is actually to accommodate the car seat. So until DC2 is out of the car seat DC1 will be in the smaller side and IMO if you need to take DC2 out of the car seat to have DC1 in the larger seat, it defeats the purpose. I will say I LOVE my peg pliko 3 singleton so it is not a bad stroller but IMO just not right for us. If your DC1 and DC2 are extremely close in age then this stroller might work really well for you.
I had to give up on my dream of having DC2 in the car seat and attaching it to the stroller. I am still debating between the two Maclaren twin strollers mainly b/c I have not seen the techno in person.
As far as I can tell the difference between the 2 maclaren twins for the 2009 model is: - the more expensive one requires you to purchase two comfort packs (head rest and foam things for the shoulder straps) so it is really $50 more than what it is advertised for. - the more expensive one has better wheels (shock absorbtion) and wheel covers - the more expensive one has a slightly larger canopy with a viewing window. - the more expensive one is about 4 lbs heavier.
I am leaning towards the less expensive one but will still test out the more expensive one.
I like the more expensive one for the fact that it comes in black and the less expensive one does not. I can never get their names right but one is running about 345 and the other 265. BRU only sells the less expensive one.

Re: City Mini Double Stroller - Pros? Cons?
I had this on my list for a while but we opted out. The pics I've seen of the set up with an infant seat attached look as though the older child's seat is almost entirely encroached upon by the infant seat. It's also really narrow and oddly deep inside, even when they're sitting straight up. We put DS in it and he was not a fan. I saw a woman with it and 2 kids pretty close in age. When I asked her opinion she vehemently stated that her eldest despised it b/c it's so narrow.
I just ordered the Bumbleride Indie Twin - maybe one for you to consider.

Fawn and Forest - free shipping and no tax! Since the stroller manufacturers really buckle down on the discounting the price was exactly the same no matter where I looked ($659.95) so this was the only way to save some $. I bought the snack pack for DS too so the total was $699.90, which I figure saved about $55-ish in taxes.
