Re: City People!! Need a Rec!
I'm a mom in the city!
Patsy's restaurants are all over the city. They are VERY kid friendly. In fact, we just went to one for my neice's 3rd birthday- 2 toddlers, one infant and adults- and we weren't the largest party of kids either.

Some more-
Galaxy Global Eatery Neighborhood: Union Square Price: under $10 to $20 Kids will like the sci-fi theme of this restaurant, and parents will enjoy the creative, healthy fare. The music can be a bit loud, but that's good if your kids are inclined to make noise.
Mars 2112 1633 Broadway (51st Street) Price: $10-20 Parents should take their kids here for the experience, not the food (which is mediocre). They're sure to enjoy riding into the restaurant on the "spaceship" cars and the funky sci-fi environment for dining is memorable.
Peanut Butter & Co 240 Sullivan Street Neighborhood: Greenwich Village Price: under $10 Even picky kids will love this restaurant dedicated to peanut butter sandwiches. With over 20 menu items featuring peanut butter, from the classic preschool snack of Ants on a Log $4) to an Elvis (grilled peanut butter, banana, honey and bacon, $6.50), this family-friendly restaurant is sure to please. Only in New York City can you find a restaurant dedicated to peanut butter, and you can even purchase their unique peanut butter blends, including "The Heat is On" which features a spicy kick.
Serendipity 3 225 East 60th Street (2nd/3rd Avenues) Price: $10 to $20 Reservations available only if you have dinner or lunch. There's a reason that this restaurant nearly always has a line out the door -- it's famous with kids and parents alike, especially for its frozen hot chocolate. Portions are large, whether it's the foot-long hotdog($7.95) or the ice cream sundaes($7.95+). To avoid long waits (it can be 2 hours at peak times), have dinner and dessert and reserve well in advance.

I second Patsy's - FAB food and not too touristy ......... Serendipity is a nightmare, you do not want to wait on line w/ a 2 and 4 year old - ALmost anything in Times Square will work too -

They reopened after passing a second health inspection several months ago. I 3rd Patsy's. Jackson Hole is also very child friendly.
