Cleaning carpets while pregnant

I have been down on my hands and knees cleaning our area rugs and carpets in the nursery and DS's room with our spot cleaner. I am not using any kind of carpet cleaner...just some baby oxiclean and vinegar and water in the steam cleaner.

I have been keeping DS away b/c some think it's dangerous to clean carpet with kids b/c of Kawasaki disease but I never thought I am inhaling the crap. Think it can hurt ?

I've never heard of anything you can do to prevent Kawasaki disease. I just goggled too and found nothing about cleaners having any effect.

A coworker has a little boy with it, and they could not figure out why he had it or what they could have done different.

oxiclean as far as I understand breaks down pretty easily, so as long as its no ingested its probably safe around you and your kids. Same holds for vinegar.
As far as other cleaners, just make sure its ventilated for the cleaner to dissipate.

What I would be concerned with, is all the bending you have to do. That can't be good for your back with all the extra weight.

My brother had Kawaski back in the 80s and they don't know what causes it. They don't believe there is a link between carpet cleaners and Kawaski.

I hope not, I have cleaned carpets and our old couch with the wet carpet cleaner and just used the reg carpet cleaning stuff. I also use oxyclean all the time

I have a friend who has a carpet cleaning business - they use 100% organic to clean the carpets
