Cleaning kitchen cabinets
We have stained cabinets. How do you degrease them without damaging the finish?
TIA

Re: Cleaning kitchen cabinets
When we moved in, we used Murphy's Oil soap to clean our oak cabinets. Can you use that?

Re: Cleaning kitchen cabinets
It did fine on most cabinets but not the one over the stove.
I never noticed how "bad" it was. It's that thick sticky residue.

Re: Cleaning kitchen cabinets
It could be that the oils from cooking and from people touching it "ate" through the finish...

Re: Cleaning kitchen cabinets
Have you tried a microfiber cloth with warm water? They clean everything! They are the only thing that gets the grease and dust off of the ceiling fan in my kitchen.

Re: Cleaning kitchen cabinets
I used Murphys oil in my old home and I felt it ruined some of them a bit...not sure though if it reallly did.

Re: Cleaning kitchen cabinets
I've used a magic eraser for this - it didn't damage my cabinets.

Re: Cleaning kitchen cabinets
Pledge?
I've always used a sponge with a little Dawn and water to take off the grease and then gone over the entire thing with Pledge...
Never damaged my cabinets.
