Cleaning people broke something, wwyd?
We have cleaning people come to the house and they really do a good job. we have only had one small incident with them where they were carrying a bucket out of the guest bathroom and dripped bleach onto our hallway carpet, they had it fixed and you can't even tell where the spot was so we let it go... this was over a year ago.
Today they came and I still had some of my Christmas decorations out, they have been here when decorations were out before and it's not an issue... one of the things I hadn't put away yet was a blown glass Christmas tree with these tiny blown glass ornaments on it that DH bought me in Venice when we first started dating. One of the girls knocked it over and it broke. I seriously freakin loved that thing and I am so upset.
DH called the woman who runs the company and she wanted to know how much it was but it's not like she can replace it. I remember it was expensive but this was years ago so it's not like I could even quote her a price. What would you do? Would you want money for it? Cleaning services in exchange? Or just let it go?

Ugh that stinks! I am soooo sorry. I know it's irreplaceable.
But they should still compensate you for breaking somethign in your home.
I am just not sure how you can give them a price with no receipt or recollection of what it cost.
Are they asking you to provide a receipt?

Thanks
They're not asking for a receipt but I feel weird just throwing out a number.
