Clogged milk ducts
for those of you who had this, how long did it take before it got better? I'm doing the warm compresses, nursing, and massage just wondering how long I've got to endure the pain?

Re: Clogged milk ducts
It hurts like hell! I had this twice. I actually took a pin and pooped the clog...I sterlized the pin first and it didn't hurt to do..but felt SOOO much better after. I am NOT telling you to do it, but I had to. I couldn't take it anymore. Pumping may also help you. OUCH!!!

Re: Clogged milk ducts
I suffer from this and it ussually takes 1 day. When that happens, I offer him the breast with the clogged ducts first and I take showers with hot water. Nicholas is 7 1/2 months old and I still suffer from that

Re: Clogged milk ducts
IMO clogged ducts are worse than childbirth...seriously the pain is brutal so I really feel sorry for you right now...I only suffered from them once and I think I caused it by wearing a sports bra to bed - a friends recommendation -never again...
I actually popped mine - well DH did at 4.30 in the morning when I was crying in pain but I read on some website - maybe kellymom to feed your baby on all fours -sounds weird but I swear it works....what you do is lay your baby flat on the bed and then you lay over your baby and basically let your breast hang into your DC's mouth -seemingly the gravity thing works and be prepared for the whoosh of milk and your poor child to get an unexpected milk bath
Good luck
