Clomid & Side Effects (Related to dosage)

I'm starting Clomid tonight. The RE put me on 50 mg. but a lot of girls on here seem to be on 100 mg. I'm nervous about the side effects. Do you think that the smaller dosage will lessen the amount of side effects?

i was on 50mg for one cycle its a very typical starting dose. it was the only cycle of clomid i ever did cause it did nothing for me and we moved on right away cause my RE isnt a fan of clomid at all. i remember having hot flashes and headaches. the worst side effects are the ones you cant feel, like thinning of the uterine lining and reduction of CM. thats why its not recommended to do too many cycles of clomid in a lifetime.
as far as side effects vs. dosage, that all depends on your own body. i wouldnt really be too concerned with the side effects at this point, even with higher doses they aren't that bad. if its going to help you ovulate and get pregnant its worth a few hours here and there of discomfort.

Everyone is different. I had no side effects at all from the clomid. I was on 50mg for 2 cycles and 100mg for 1 cycle. It never really did much for me. I am unexplained IF. I just wasn't ready back then to move onto injectables.

If all you have to take is clomid to regulate your cycle and get ku, I would gladly take any side effects from it. Not to mention, it is nothing compared to the injectables side effects.

Hopefully clomid does the trick and you get ku. GL!!

I just finished a 200mg cycle of clomid and I had no side effects at all. I have done all doses from 50mg to 200mg and never any side effects

Thanks for your responses. I have always been very against taking meds and I'm nervous about the clomid.

I just finished my second round of Clomid on the same dosage you will be on. I took it at night to minimize my side effects. I had hot flashes and headaches. But...it was worth it in the end because I have two follicles on one side and one on the other. Hoping to O soon.

I just finished my first dose of clomid i was on 100mg and the only side effect i had was a little bit of hot flashes nothing major but if it helps you get a bfp then it is all worth it.
