clomid questions
i got pg with my first IUI- natural no meds. then i lost the baby. VERY hard....
Af came and im starting to try again. im taking clomid beginning tomorrow ( 2 50 mg pills per day for 5 days) then getting a trigger shot ( ovidril) and then IUI. When will mu IUI be, basically how long after clomid willl i be "ready" (approximatley)? i tought clomid can make you O later than normal??
w or w/o food is OK right? any idea why i got 2 X50 pills instead of 1X 100? i know there ar epotiental side effects but how common are they? does everyone get them? any preference as to night or daytime takign them?
what does a larger dose do vs a smaller dose? give me more hormone so i get more eggs?
i do O on my own but they will still give me a trigger to guarentee we dont miss my time. TIA!
to all who are TTC

Re: clomid questions
sorry for your loss. i've been there and understand how hard it is.
i also O on my own but have been taking clomid/trigger/iui. i take 50mg CD5-9, for less follicles (basically i get 2 good ones) but hopefully better ones. plus, the trigger for a nice strong O, better timing, and the release of the mature follicles.
i get some side effects from the clomid, but they aren't bad...a couple hot flashes and some dry mouth. i usually take mine in the evening but have taken it in the morning too. it hasn't changed much for me. the trigger can give you some s/e of PG. isn't that a kick in the pants!
good luck!

Re: clomid questions
i took 50mg of clomid for the first time this cycle, days 5 to 9. on day 11 i went in to see if i had follicles. based on my blood work i was having a surge so i had the IUI on day 12 and the trigger because i had not yet ovulated. (i was supposed to go for another IUI but i chose to bd). i think everyone is different and that is why they monitor you for when you will O. the dr told me i must be sensitive to the drugs if i felt the side effects i did...a little dizzy, some nausea. i had a few hot flashes but they were after i was done with the pills. i took it in the morning and a few hours after i took it i felt the side effects weaken.

Re: clomid questions
I am also very sorry for your loss.
I am on my 3rd cycle of clomid. i also ovulate on my own, and have only taken 50mg of clomid each month. on clomid my cycles have been 29 days and i ovulate around day 15. they will probably schedule you to come back in for blood and sono on day 12. each cycle i have also take the trigger shot to make sure that i ovulate at the right time. they want to make sure the follicles are a good size. I took the pills at night and didn't need to eat with them. i experienced minimal side effects just a few hot flashes.
I am not sure why they started you on 100 mg and not 50. I respond very well on 50 and they didn't want to increase to 100 because that my cause me to make too many follicles.
good luck!
