Cohen's children's neurologists - any recommendations?
I need a recommendation for a pediatric doctor at Cohen's for neurology. If there is someone you also do not recommend, post here or send me a private message. Much appreciated.

We see Dr. Emma Laureta. Really like her and the whole practice!

That is good to hear. How old would you say she is? Do you thinks she has a lot of experience? I felt like she must be the newer one there, since I was offered a few appts with her vs the others.

How does it work though? Does your child only see one, do they make a diagnosis or does the team confer and make a diagnosis together? If we see one and need more appointments , do we ever get to see the others?

I think she is probably in early 40's? She's young but not straight out of med school. She always seems to be up to date on latest research and studies and we have talked about a few different conferences she has gone too.
I believe she is one of the newer ones at the practice but we have been seeing her there for about 3 years already.
She was our "2nd opinion" after seeing another neuro for a year and half and not having any answers... We walked out of our first appointment with Dr. Laureta feeling like we had more answers and understanding of what was going on then we did with the other neuro after a year and half. She is soft spoken but a good listener and she always takes her time with us. She also was the first one to really explain things to us.

We only saw one (Dr. Laureta) - unless it was at the hospital and someone else was on call. Dr. Laureta diagnosed my daughter alone. They try to keep you with the same doctor for all appointment's - which is pretty standard for specialist.
Also, I wanted to note that after the first appointment -which took a while to get - I have never had an issue with appointments after that. But we always make our next appointment before we leave the current appointment. If you had to cancel suddenly I can see it taking a little while to get another appointment bc pretty much everyone makes their appointments 3 months in advance. So you just have to be mindful of that.
