So funny that you asked this today. We were out today with my friend and her DD - she brought turkey for her DD and offered it to my girls. They liked it and I was happy that it was another thing I could give them for lunch. Because of the sodium I probably won't give it too often, but why not every now and again!

We started coldcuts when DD was able to start table foods. She eats turkey, chicken and roast beef.

I'll make her turkey rolls, turkey melts and she loves DH's roast beef sandwiches.

Re: cold cuts and toddlers

I was wondering this the other day to add more of a variety to DS's table foods since he only has a couple of teeth so far. He is going to be 11 mo. next week. I think I may try turkey.

If it's the sodium you're worried about, Boarshead has low sodium turkey, American cheese, ham... you get the picture. I only get lower sodium b/c you really can't tell the difference. Chat Icon

Re: cold cuts and toddlers

I am not a fan, a little too processed.

But, I had no idea that when Leo would take Josh running, they stop at the store for free samples. josh loves it.

So, I leave it at that...but I don't buy it and give it to him.

Re: cold cuts and toddlers

We don't ofetn have cold cuts, but Ds has had turkey and ham on occasion. i don't think too much of it since it's not like he eats it every day.
