Cold hands

My son is 5 months and his hands get sooo cold at night. I tried putting those mittens on that they use for newborns, but because he is teething, they go right in his mouth, and get soaking wet. Any other options?

Re: Cold hands

how is the temp in his room? Do you think it might be too cold and he needs some heat? DS always has cold hands but still sleeps swaddled so it isn't as much of an issue.

Re: Cold hands

I was just about to post this. Even though DS is not teething, he still chews on the gloves. Chat Icon

Re: Cold hands

we're having the exact same problem. the only thing i've been doing is extra long sleeves that cover the hand more but he still has access to his fingers.

Re: Cold hands

My ped said it's fine, the blood is just directed to other more important parts. As long as their body is warm, they're ok he said.

Re: Cold hands

Cold hands and feet does not mean that the baby is cold.

I was told to feel the back of their neck. That is how you can tell if baby is cold or hot.

Steven's hands were always like ICE and everyone would say "ooooo...put mittens on him" meanwhile they would come right off. So I asked the ped. and that's what I was told...to check his neck.
