COLORS!!!

I guess im kind of a boring person I like Neutral colors. I like beige and white and colors that go with everything. IM SO LAME...

I always wanted a red living room but we have a sectional couch thats tan microfiber. We are planning on putting that in our Tv room and buying a new couch for the room that has the fireplace and leaving that as just the sitting room. i have no idea what color to paint the sitting room. And they the room with the Tv I think is to small for red? Chat Icon

The kitchen is like mint green thats gotta go. And the bedroom we are going to use as ours for a while was their daughters room and its hot pink Chat Icon Mike says thats the first thing to go. We are maybe Chat Icon going to closing this friday so I need to decide fast!!!

Re: COLORS!!!

You can always paint one wall the red, and then do the other walls in a neutral. If you did that you could even keep the tan couch- maybe use a lighter tan on the wall. I think that would look great, with a brick-red or burgundy shade on one wall.

We did something similar- our BR was not that big. We painted one wall a deep plummy wine color and the other three are a pinky-beige. I love how it came out. There's a pic in that "Painted Paneling" thread.

Re: COLORS!!!

how big is the room that you're thinking about painting red?

we have a cranberry-sh color in our livingroom... the room itself isnt that huge, BUT, there's ALOT of light in it (triple window in the front, and a side window). but our couches are Grey, so the room was pretty dark looking- we got cream/oatmeal colored slip covers, and now it looks Gorgeous!

my point, in all that rambling Chat Icon is that, IMO as long as there's alot of (natural) light in the room it will be fine- nd compensate for it being on the smaller side

In our living room, we painted 1 wall blue, and the others tan. WE got a red microfiber couch and a nice area rug with all the colors...

Re: COLORS!!!

Our house is completely white on the inside....It is very blah...A blank Pallette. I cannot wait to get some color in there.

So far I think we are going to do the kitchen in a light sage, since the counter top is green, the Living room in a pale yellow, since we have it now and we love how it goes with all of our furniture, Plus we will be putting down a dark cherry Laminate wood floor, and the light color of the wall will just pop off the floor....The downstairs guest room may be a Light blue....We found a really nice comforter for the guest "day" bed that we are planning to put in there that is Dark brown and Light blue micro fiber.

I think Picking paint colors is the hardest part. I would love to do a dark red dining room, but I dont think we will....

Re: COLORS!!!

In my living room (which is kind of small) I have a tan couch - one red wall and the rest of the walls are beige...if you want to see pics let me know I'll find some on my computer.

Re: COLORS!!!

That's how our LR is. We have vaulted ceiling in it and the one wall is a deep red and the rest are sort of white/grey. I love havinng the color, but since the room itself is not that big, I think all red would have been too much.

You can kind of see it here.

ETA - Elbee, I love the way the two colors look!

I love your wall!!!! Tht looks awesome. We debated doing one wall in red but we did that in our living room with yellow/green so we decided on a chair rail instead in the den.

Re: COLORS!!!

Elbee, what color green is that in the above picture? Who makes it? I am asking everyone with a green wall/walls what they have because I want to put it in my home.
