Comforters, woobies...whatever you call them
Do you guys use these in the states? They are like Baby Comforters...
Do you think they are good gifts? Yes, I did just have a baby six months ago, but for the life of me I can't sort of get my head around whether or not they make good baby gifts.
Call it baby brain!

Its sort of like a flat piece of fabric, one side is velvety and the other is just that really really really really really soft plush. They are safe for newborns to chew on. I got that one for Noah, but am going to give it as a gift instead. They cost around $17-18
eta just checked ebay in the US, they cost around $30! Eek, it cost me £11....

yes ive seen these little comforter/blankie/stuffed animal combo thingies. Im not a fan of extra clutter and chachkas, so my boys never used it and it wasnt the cutest thing, so I guess i might have liked it if it was cuter hey at least im honest

Re: Comforters, woobies...whatever you call them
I guess this is kind of the same thing...
This is called a snuggle buddy-
Ryan goes no where w/o this thing- he sleeps w/ it, chews on the ears, cuddles with it, play with it... you name it....
We have a few other kinds... but the dalmation seems to be the only one he has really clung to....
Its like velvety and silk, and the head rattles a little....
We got the original for christmas from my mom... we recently ordered 2 more online... for just in case instances (like we we leave him at someones house on accident)
There is no way of knowing if a child would like something like this... or this particular one...
(this is the reason we choose a dalmation theme for Ryans party!)

We have something like that for Emily -- we call it a "Lovie."
We used to give her that at night when she fell esleep but we stopped because a few times we went in there because she was crying and it was over her face -- this was when she was about 5 months -- so now she has her "girl" which is a soft plus baby doll and she sleeps with that instead.

oh yes thats it, I think we had the snuggle buddy, like the dalmation, but it was an ugly yellow thing, in WOOL, yuck, I hate wool. IT was itchy and I CANT imagine it being soft and nice to have around in summer... I can be an anal mom I guess

She has only one thing that comforts her - I call it her thumb.
